How we can help with foot pain

Are your arches dropping in your feet? Do you have flat feet? We can perform a foot assessment at Level Up Sports Chiropractic that will assess the severity of your arch drop. Fallen arches can lead to a variety of problems such as ankle hyperpronation, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer toes, and even knee, hip, and low back pain! Your favorite Manhattan chiropractor sees these problems every day!

Why do arches fall? Some people have an abnormality that is present from birth, others have a history of trauma to their ankles such as repeated broken or sprained ankles. One theory is that, our feet are not meant to be in shoes and walking around on flat, hard surfaces (such as concrete and linoleum). Your feet have many tiny muscles and ligaments that are meant to support the foot's 3 arches which make up the plantar vault; these muscles and ligaments are meant to help the foot conform to rough terrain. When your feet are constantly on flat surfaces, these muscles get weaker and the most common result is dropped arches and foot pain.
