🏃‍♂️How much running should you do?🏃‍♀️

In a study published on 11/4 /2019 in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, researchers performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to see how much is running associated with a lower risk of all-cause cardiovascular and cancer mortality and is more the better?

We all know that there are tons of articles detailing the benefits of cardiovascular exercises. However, is there a limit?

After weeding out irrelevant articles, they reviewed 14 different studies which totaled over 200k participants. Each study collected health outcomes such as if they are living a healthy lifestyle, sociodemographic factor, physical activity levels, body fat, health status, AMOUNT OF RUNNING which all then is calculated to mortality risk

Conclusion: Any amount of running is better than no running (duh!). Also, they found that just a bit of running may reduce your risk of all-cause death by as much as 27%. This includes those who ran 1x/week or ran lower speeds for 1 hour or less! Unfortunately, researchers was unable to determine an upper limit amount to show that more running = more health benefits

Take home note: GO OUT AND RUN! Your body will thank you later!
